Every summer the Dejong family camps out at SP for a weekend. We look forward to it all summer. This year they stayed on a different lot than they usually do. At first we were a bit nervous about it because it is on the corner of 2 busy roads, but it was all they had available so we gave it a shot. It turned out to be the best thing ever! Right across the street is the baseball diamond and that turned out to be hours of fun for the kiddos. On Saturday nights there is always a mens baseball game. So the boys got their dinner and found a seat on the back of the golf cart to watch the game. So much fun for them. When their dinner was done they ended up disappearing across the road and chased foul balls for the rest of the game!

Another one of the highlights~ getting ice cream. This is a nightly ritual and the kids can's wait. After ice cream they get to play on the playground for awhile.
At night we would have a campfire with the kids and then cozy them in the trailer for movie time while the adults enjoyed some adult conversation at the campfire! Look at all those adorable kiddos!
The wonderful ball diamond across the street also doubled as our own personal sandbox~ providing hours of happiness to the sweet little kids! I'm not sure that the players were very excited about it, but the Moms loved it!!

The little buddies. Ty and Avery have become very good friends and playmates. They truly enjoy each others company and play together all day. They even take little breaks with each other and sit and chat!

At one point Avery and Ty went to go and play in the trailor. A few minutes later we see two little heads peaking at us from the trailer window! You can't really see them in this pic, but it was so cute. We wondered what they were up to and we headed in the trailer with our cameras.
And this is what we found. Ty and Avery hiding in Ty's bed covered with the blankets. Erin and I laughed and decided we really must get a pic of this to embarrass them later in life! Some day these pics of Ty and Avery snuggled in Ty's bed may come back to haunt them (aren't we naughty!)
And them Ty's legs come hanging out and we just lost it. We were giggling about our little plan to begin with and then it was almost as if they were playing along. We saw an arm come out and then a leg and then Avery would peek her head out and so on. It was good for a few laughs!
Another wonderful weekend with the Dejongs. We are so thankful for their friendship and we look forward to camping again next summer!
