Silly sisters!!

Garage Sale

Since we have had such beautiful weather Mom and I decided that we should have a garage sale. We put it together last minute, but it worked out great! We had it on March 17th and I think that we had the first garage sale of the year. We hung out and enjoyed the sunshine, had a picnic lunch, and made money while doing it!! What could be finer??

sunshine!

Today was one of the first days of sunshine that we have had. We were so excited that we did all of our activities on the deck. This one was the most fun. We busted out the paints and made a huge picture!

The girls thought that this was the neatest thing ever. Understandable since we just spent 3 months cooped up in the house!! Unfortunately Jaideyn is just like her Mom. She and I have no use for the snow and cold weather. I just get plain crabby when I am cold and Jaideyn can't handle being outside in the snow for more than 10 minutes at a time and she gets too cold. Because I understand not liking the cold I really don't make her stay out in it. So, spending the day outside seemed like a foreign idea. We made the most of it and had a wonderful day!!

We even took a few minutes to lay out in the sun!! We are looking forward to more sunny days ahead!

Oh Avery!

Our little cuties!

Just some cute spring pics!

Little Miss Attitude!

Our little Miss Avery has become little Miss Attitude. She has hit the terrible 3's. Our kids really didn't have the terrible 2's it hit when they were 3. Now Avery is following the tradition. She has decided that this is her new look. The arms crossed and the pouty lips. She won't talk or even look at anyone~but she does grunt a little bit! As if Avery wasn't challenging enough for me~she has added the attitude now. THIS I do not think is cute and I usually do not laugh. So, I suppose that it is a blessing that she started this attitude so we can finally start disciplining her like we would a normal child. She has gotten away with most things up until now due to her cuteness and character, but this will not do! So, Avery is starting to learn what discipline means. When she starts with the pouty lips I ask her where her smile went. I then tell her that it is lost and she needs to find it. If she is not able to find it and put it back on she will be in trouble.

Nine times out of ten this is the look that I get within a minute of telling her to find her smile. Although she is quite naughty she is usually pretty quick to listen and shape up. It still melts my heart (and makes me laugh) to see her transition so fast between the attitude and the sweet little smiling child! Just another reason that I love you Aves!!

Family Fun night

On March 12 we headed to family fun night at BCCS. The kids look forward to this every year. They have only been there 2 years now and they remember it so well. The first thing that they all wanted to do was get their hair colored. Jackson chose to get his hair sprayed red.

Jaideyn chose pink.

Avery chose green and got a fabulous little mermaid tattoo on her face!

The kids enjoyed seeing their friends, playing games, eating snacks and getting some fun prizes when the night was over.

Date night

On Wednesday March 10 Jaideyn and I had date night. She chose to head to the mall and spend some time walking around, looking in the stores and riding the carousel. We don't get to do it as often as I would like, but I truly enjoy spending time with just her and I.

I can't believe how fast she is growing up. I feel like just yesterday I was carrying her around in the baby bjorn praying for her to stop crying. Now we are heading to the mall and chatting about life! Although it is a bit sad I am so thankful for her and the child that she has become. She has gone from crying 24/7 to a happy and kind 4 year old in no time! I love you so much little birdie!!

Girls getaway

On Saturday March 6 I was so excited to have a girls getaway in Holland. Mom, Diana, Aunt Joni, Kelley, Ann and I headed to Holland for the girlfriends getaway. We started with breakfast at Boatwerks and then headed out for a day of fun and shopping. All of the shops had fun things set up to do and some fun shopping. We had a wonderful time of hanging out, chatting, laughing and just having a great time together (with NO KIDS!!)

At one of the makeup shops they were doing make overs and of course I volunteered. I would love to learn how to do cute makeup. But, I think that I did learn that it is a lost cause for me!
Oh well, I enjoyed being pampered and having cute make up for one day!!
It was an awesome day and I look forward to doing it again next year!

Holiday Inn Express

On February 19 the kids had mid winter break from school, so we decided that we would spend the night at the Holiday Inn. When we told the kids they were so excited because they know exactly what awaits them at the Holiday Inn. We got there Friday afternoon and went to our room. In keeping with our tradition the first thing that we did was jump on the beds! Great way to start our "vacation!"

Then we headed to the water park. I made the kids pose for a quick picture before jumping in. They were really thrilled about this. Avery started with her swimmies on and they lasted all of about 2 minutes and she took them off and threw them on the chair. In her mind they only slow her down!

Just a cute pic!

Avery was an animal in the water. We could hardly keep track of her. She loved the water slide and the freedom that she had in the shallow water. She was all over the place. We laughed because she got yelled at several times by the lifegaurd for going down the water slide head first. Only Avery!!!

Jaidey wasn't so sure about the water slide. They were a little too fast for her and she got a little too wet.

She would rather stand around and look pretty!

Sister love!!

This was the first time that we have gone that Jackson was tall enough to go down the slide. He was so happy that he finally grew! He spent most of his time enjoying the slide!

Jackson doing his famous cannon ball!

When the night was over we sat down to have a special bedtime snack. Avery was lovin it. This may have been her favorite part of the vacation. Or at least it was a close 2nd!!!
